Melaka, 2024 – The Melaka
International Collaboration, Visiting Lecturer, and Community Service (MICVECS)
2024 officially kicked off with a grand opening ceremony at UITM
Melaka. The event was warmly opened by the Vice Rector III of
UITM Melaka, followed by speeches from Prof. Ts. Dr. Shafinar
Ismail, President of the International Association of Economic
and Business (IAEB), and representatives from IAEB Malaysia.
The opening ceremony set the tone for the two-day
program, which aims to foster international collaboration, promote knowledge
exchange, and encourage community engagement among universities from Indonesia,
Malaysia, and beyond. The event included remarks on the significance of academic
partnerships and the role of visiting lecturers, students, and community
service in enriching the global academic landscape.
In her speech, Prof. Shafinar Ismail
emphasized the importance of programs like MICVECS in strengthening academic
networks and providing opportunities for students and faculty to collaborate on
impactful initiatives. "This event is an excellent opportunity to share
knowledge, build relationships, and create meaningful contributions to our
societies," she stated.
The ceremony also included a warm welcome from
the IAEB Malaysia representatives, who expressed their enthusiasm for the event
and the opportunities it brings to expand regional and international
cooperation.
Following the opening speeches, participants from
various universities were invited to engage in the event’s diverse academic and
cultural activities, fostering collaboration and partnership that will last
long beyond MICVECS 2024.
