Empowering Sustainable Waste Management: IAEB South Sulawesi & Partners at Makassar Waste Bank

On September 13, 2024, the Indonesian Association of Economics and Business Experts (IAEB) South Sulawesi Regional Branch organized a Community Service program at the Bank Sampah in Makassar. The event was held in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Melaka, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, UIN Alauddin Makassar, and Universitas Islam Alauddin Sinjai. Under the theme "Empowering Sustainable Practices in Waste Management," the program aimed to raise awareness and build skills in sustainable waste management practices within the local community.

Throughout the event, participants learned about the importance of responsible waste management, recycling processes, and eco-friendly business practices. Experts from participating institutions shared insights on how sustainable waste practices can create economic opportunities while benefiting the environment. Training sessions and interactive workshops focused on practical waste management skills and strategies for turning waste into valuable resources, encouraging community members and local businesses to adopt eco-friendly practices.

This collaborative initiative reflects the commitment of IAEB and partner institutions to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility in South Sulawesi. The event received a positive response from the local community, who expressed interest in applying the new knowledge and techniques in their everyday lives to contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable environment.
